Education, Crime and Violence. Evidence of Interventions in Developing Countries

  • class Tesis, Doctorado en Economía, IE-PUC, 2018

Abstract: This dissertation contains three essays on crime, violence, and education in the frame of development economics. The first two chapters study how specific educational interventions and the way they are implemented can determine students’ cognitive and non-cognitive outcomes, including socio-emotional skills and violent behavior. Finally, the last chapter explores how providing public infrastructure in developing countries can drive some unintended short-term effects on their economic development.
